Paid Placement
Dt. "Bezahlte Platzierung". Aufnahme in die Ergebnisseiten einer Suchmaschine gegen Bezahlung, wobei eine bestimmte Position in Bezug auf bestimmte Keywords erreicht werden kann, sofern der Preis stimmt. Der Preis wird meist in einem offenen Bieterverfahren in Bezug auf die Kosten pro Click festgelegt (Pay per Click). Damit hängen die Kosten vor allem vom Wettbewerb um eine bestimmte Suchmaschinen-Position ab. Wird in unterschiedlichen Varianten z.B. von Overture, Espotting und Google (Adwords) praktiziert, wobei die bezahlten Suchergebnisse je nach Suchmaschine mehr oder weniger deutlich gekennzeichnet werden und damit als Paid Placements erkennbar sind.
